At the end of the obituary for one my second cousins a few times removed, it is mentioned that she always made Dutch Lettuce on Sundays. I had to wonder if that is a real thing. In a matter of seconds, I found several recipes online. It sounds really, really tasty!
However, I still have to know if this is food typical of the Netherlands, or if it was a meal typical of 100+ years ago that my ancestors brought over but is not typical anymore over there, or if it was a recipe invented by people of dutch descent who lived in Wisconsin.
